Ground Mounted Structure
A ground-mounted solar system is a structured frame, fixed on the ground that supports solar panels. There are mainly two types, namely fixed tilt & tracking systems. Fixed tilt offers stability & easy installation, while also being cost effective compared tracking systems that adjust panel positions to follow the sun, maximizing energy capture.
Tracking systems can boost energy production, however they require more engineering & pose potential risks, such as damage from high winds or increased maintenance costs. The initial upfront cost of tracking systems is also higher than fixed tilt.
Flexibility
This structure provides a stable, fixed base that holds the panels at an optimal tilt and orientation to capture sunlight, allowing for increased performance and efficiency, particularly in locations without suitable rooftops or with ample open space for installation.
Enhanced Airflow
The structure includes racking, ground anchors, and includes pole-mounted or standard rack systems. Being elevated from the ground with better air circulation helps keep the panels cooler, improving their efficiency.
Maximum Demand
It’s the highest amount of electricity your business uses at any one time, you are charged based on this even if you only hit that point once.
- An energy audit helps you
- Identify your peak demand.
- Understand what’s causing it.
- Take steps to reduce it.
- This one insight has a direct impact on your electricity charges.
